Patricia Ruth DeBrock Hill

Memorial services to celebrate the life of Patricia Ruth DeBrock Hill, 71, of Huntington will be held Friday, February 27, 2026 at 4:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Patricia Hill was born in Waco, Texas May 4, 1954 as the youngest of three children to Marjorie Nell (Adams) DeBrock and Jimmy Newell DeBrock. She was raised with her siblings, Kathy Phillips and John DeBrock, and remained close with them all her life. She passed peacefully Sunday, February 22, 2026 in Lufkin after a hard-fought battle with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

Patricia was raised in Groesbeck, Texas for much of her life and had many fond memories of living there with her family. She studied at Stephen F. Austin State University for a few years until starting her family. Patricia also answered to many nicknames: Patsy, Trish, Pete, Mom and Mimi. She worked in the service industry and treated her customers like family. Most notably she worked at the original Charlie’s Family Restaurant in Lufkin as a waitress for many years and made many friends and connections - including meeting her husband Darrell there. She lived in Huntington with Darrell over the last 30 years. Patricia was a humble, resilient woman that loved strongly and quietly. She didn’t like anyone to make a big fuss over her or have what she thought was unnecessary attention. She loved Jesus and her family. She was an avid reader and loved animals - especially her cat Rip. She loved to sing, crochet and drink Coke Zero. Her wit and kindness will be missed.

Surviving family are her loving husband, Darrell Hill; children, Margie Havard and son-in-law Michael Havard, Billy Walton, and David Walton; grandchildren, Micayla Havard, Troy Havard, Harleigh Havard, Brody Walton, Novaleigh Walton, Kaiah Walton and Jay Hernandez; sister, Kathy Phillips; brother, John DeBrock; and many other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Nell (Adams) DeBrock; father, Jim Newell DeBrock; mother-in-law, Pat Ford; and sister-in-law, Valerie Murphy. We rejoice in their happy reunion in heaven.
