Graveside services for Oleita Stanley, 75, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Berry Cemetery with Pastor Steve Cowart officiating.
Oleita Stanley, born to Archie Robinson and Thelma Biscamp in Vidor, Texas March 29, 1942, was called to be with her Lord Sunday, February 11, 2018. Oleita was the loving wife of Earl Stanley, caring mother of Sharon Hairston, and kind-hearted grandmother of Devan Barrett. She had a special relationship with each of her siblings and their loved ones: her twin, Oneida and husband John Berube, Charles Robinson and wife Susan, Arnold Robinson and wife Pat, Barbara Offutt and partner Robert Enshru. She was also an adoring aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Oleita lived a life of adventure, always traveling to new and exotic destinations. She was also a true artist. From becoming a talented seamstress at a young age to creating stunning paintings on blank canvases, Oleita had an eye for the beautiful things of which she surrounded herself. Through her life she worked at the Angelina Tax Office for many years, she was an active member at Trinity Baptist Church serving as secretary of the Jolly Seniors Sunday School group, and always found time to dedicate herself to her beloved family members. She truly embodied elegance and grace.
Honorary pallbearers will include Tim Hairston, Dan Stanley, Timothy Stanley, John Berube, and Charlie Robinson.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
