Ofelia Contreras

Mass of Christian Burial for Ofelia Contreras, 61, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Raymundo Garcia officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Haven Cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Monday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Ms. Contreras was born February 2, 1958 in El Refugio, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to the late Gudelia (Rojas) and Francisco Contreras, and died Friday, January 31, 2020 at her residence.

Ms. Contreras was a Janitor for Pilgrim’s Pride and retired after more than 30 years of service. She loved tending to her animals, and she enjoyed gardening, especially flowers. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Survivors include her husband, Abraham Torres of Lufkin; sons, Jose Rafael Basoria and Fausto Basoria, both of Lufkin; daughters, Rosa Elena Perez and husband Francisco of Gladewater, Erica M. Brown and husband Jeremy of Lufkin; grandchildren, Estella, Eduardo, Edgar, Omar, Veronica, Adrian, Fransisco, Sofia, Francisco III, Kaden, Nolan, and Evan; great-grandchild, Alonso; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Graciela Riojas.

Pallbearers will be Abraham Torres, Jose Basoria, Francisco Perez, Jeremy Brown, Fransisco Basoria, and Adrian Basoria.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
