Norma Jean Loose

Funeral services for Norma Jean Loose, 72, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow in the Arnold Cemetery in the Forest Community of Cherokee County.

Mrs. Loose was born January 25, 1945 in Jacksonville, Texas to the late Doris (Todd) and Robert Lee Byers, and died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Loose had resided in Lufkin for 40 years. She was an avid fisherwoman, was a member of several bass clubs, and enjoyed hunting arrowheads. Mrs. Loose dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a people person. Mrs. Loose was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children, Shannon Biggs, Steven Biggs and wife Stephanie, Beverly Torbert, Cathy McComb and husband Steve, all of Lufkin, Karen Johnson and husband James Carl of Kennard, Mark Loose of Hudson, Tiffany Biggs, and Erica Gunn, both of Lufkin; 12 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Nelda Holcomb of Lufkin and Hilda O’Hare of New Waverly; brothers, Larry Byers and wife Rhonda and David Byers, all of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard Loose; and great-grandson, Jaxon Alexander Legg.

Pallbearers will be Sean Legg, Chance Biggs, Gary Wallace, Kelly Holcomb, Joe Holcomb, Keith Brashear, and Dustin Colvin.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
