Norma Ann Glawson

Funeral services for Norma Ann Glawson, 88, of Alto will be held Monday, October 27, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Phillip Corbett officiating. Interment will follow in Wallace Chapel Cemetery.

Norma Ann was born November 12, 1936 in Houston, Texas to the late Dorothy (Maletzki) and Gus Davis and passed away October 23, 2025 in a local hospital.

Norma graduated from Austin High School and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. She began nursing school in 1970. She was voted Nurse of the Year in 1973 and was also president of the Texas League of Nurses. She retired from Memorial Medical Center of East Texas (now CHI St. Luke’s) in 1995.

Norma met David N. Glawson in high school and they got married July 3, 1954. They had been married 69 years when he passed away October 27, 2023.

Survivors include her sons, Mark and wife Tina Glawson, Thomas and wife Sherry Glawson, Phillip and wife Judie Glawson, Derrick and wife Amie Glawson, and Virgil Glawson; daughters, Deana and husband Lino Acevedo, and Rebekah Landers; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Brenda Martin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David N. Glawson; daughter, Deborah Trapp; grandson, Nathan Landers; son-in-law, James Landers; sister, Carrol Gay; brothers, Marion Davis and Jack Davis; and stepfather, Byron Gay.

Pallbearers will be Stephen Acevedo, Austin Bonilla, Laban Glawson, Dakota Glawson, Curtis Glawson, and Cutter Steptoe.

Honorary pallbearers will be Eloy Bustamante, Denver Bobbitt, Hunter Ludlam, Caleb Owens, Logan Barfield, and Drilon Ismaili.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home.
