Nora E. Wiggins Sharp, 72, of Lufkin passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at a local nursing home. Born February 26, 1953, in Lufkin, Texas, to the late Rosaline (Parmer) and William Ettle Wiggins, Nora was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from Lufkin ISD.
Nora married the love of her life, Billy Sharp, in 1974. During their 42 years of marriage, they built a strong and loving family and were blessed with three children: Lance, Elizabeth, and Teresa. Being a mother was Nora’s greatest joy. She was a loving, doting, and deeply devoted mother who poured her heart into her children, always offering encouragement, laughter, and unconditional love. Her home was a place of comfort and her children were the center of her world.
Nora touched countless lives through her work with Lufkin ISD. She formed meaningful bonds with the children she worked with, treating them as if they were her own.
Nora was known for her kind, caring, humorous, and sometimes silly personality. Her laughter was contagious, and her gentle spirit made everyone feel welcome. She loved to crochet and spoke about it often, delighting in sharing her creations with others. Nora also shared an especially close bond with her mother, a true lifelong friendship that remained a cornerstone of her life.
Nora is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Elizabeth Sharp and Teresa and Beamon Snider, all of Lufkin; grandchildren, Shadow Snider, Krysta Williams, Kaylee Snider, Maddox Snider, and Karsyn Snider; great-granddaughter, Nora Calloway; brother and sister-in-law, Leymoin and Jeannie Wiggins of Ida, Louisiana; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Sharp; son, Lance Sharp; brother, Jack Wiggins; and nephew, Zackary Sharp.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 3, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Whitehouse Cemetery with Pastor Leymoin Wiggins officiating. The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Carroway Funeral Home.
