Memorial services for Nick Fain, 79, of Huntington will be held Thursday, October 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at White Oak Church (formerly Alco Baptist Church) with Brother Joe Sawyer and Brother Wayne Rhodes officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.
Mr. Fain was born January 5, 1946 in Athens, Texas to the late Virgia Katherine (James) and Herman Nick Fain, Jr., and died Sunday, September 28, 2025 in a local hospital.
Mr. Fain served in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971. He retired from CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial where he was a Scientist in the medical lab for over 25 years. Mr. Fain was an avid Lufkin Panther fan, active member of the NRA, and loved to collect coins, arrowheads, guns, and model airplanes. He was a member of White Oak Church.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa (Starrett) Fain of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Nicole and Jeremy Edge of League City; granddaughters, Addison Grace Edge and Emmery Faith Edge; brother, Andy Fain of Lampasas; sisters, Delia Decker of Gilmer, Kathy Cracraft of Blythedale, Missouri, and Melody Hatfield of Chandler; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; and his special dog, Lucy.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Debby Fain.
