Nancy Sue Allen

Funeral services for Nancy Sue Allen, 80, of Lufkin will be held Friday, October 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Allen was born October 24, 1945 in Ellsworth, Kansas to the late Gladys Marie (Ambrust) and Cletus Russell, and died Monday, October 19, 2026 in Lufkin.

Mrs. Allen resided in Lufkin most of her life. She retired as a secretary in the maintenance department of Texas Department of Transportation following 33 years of employment. She enjoyed watching Wheel of Fortune, Price is Right, and Jeopardy and played along with the contestants. She loved spending time with her family and went every year to Kansas to her family reunion. She also enjoyed country music and she and Billy Ray would often go to Branson to see the shows. She was an avid Houston Astros fan and kept up with the players and their stats.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Karen Allen of Lufkin; grandson and wife, Christopher and Sarah Allen; great-grandson, Conway Allen; her grand-dog, Ziggy Allen; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Ray Allen; and sister, Janice Brooks.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday afternoon prior to the services.
