He is survived by his three daughters and sons-in-law, Liz and Dennis Johnson of Houston, Texas, Cindy and Terrence Morrison of Huntington, Texas, and Brenda and Armando Pena of Baytown, Texas; son, Master Sergeant Edward Smith of North Carolina; grandchildren, Terrence Morrison. Jr., Josh and Margo Morrison, Megan and Ben Riggs, Tiffany Smith, Scotty and Christine Johnson, Kay and Austin Powers, Daniel and Stacie Pridgen, Mark Pridgen, and Imelda and Gabe Elizalde; great-grandchildren, Katlynn and Stetson Morrison, Brady and Jack Brown, Kale Watson, Austin and Bentley Riggs, Tanner and Taylor Morrell, Jacob and Owen Johnson, Landon, Adalynn, and Brayden Powers, Antonio and Tye Elizalde, and Midshipman Brian Stricklan; great-great-grandchildren, TJ Novak and Phoebe Brown; siblings, Bessie Calhoun, Bud and Margie Smith, and Jimbo and Frankie Smith; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Murray had many things in his life that made him smile. He loved working in his garden, planting everything from tomatoes and watermelon to roses and orange trees. He loved deer season. Even if he wasn’t hunting watching his kids, grandchildren, and friends hunt on his land made him happy, listening to his classic country music, volume all the way up. He loved camo and would paint the world in it if he could. He loved the holidays, especially Christmas. But his most prized possessions were his family, his friends, his home, and his big red tractor. With those four things he could conquer the world and he did. There has never lived a greater dad, Paw Pay, son, brother, or friend. He is, was, and will always be a true legend.

Honorary pallbearers will be Master Sergeant Edward Smith, Armando Pena, Terrence Morrison, Sr., Terrence Morrison, Jr., Josh Morrison, Ben Riggs, Austin Riggs, Bentley Riggs, Kale Watson, and Midshipman Brian Stricklan.
