Mozelle L. Futch

Funeral services for Mozelle L. Futch, 89, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Lancewood Baptist Church with Brother James Wagstaff officiating. A private family burial will be held in the Simpson Cemetery.

Mrs. Futch was born November 1, 1934 in Angelina County, Texas to the late Mamie Louise (Craft) and Noah Greenville, and died Saturday, April 20, 2024 at her residence.

Mrs. Futch was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She loved her family dearly and taking care of them was her priority. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and the time she got to spend with them. She was a devoted member of Lancewood Baptist Church and cherished her church family. She enjoyed the time she and her husband, Vollie, spent with the Master Builders Ministry, travelling to various places helping to build churches. Another favorite pastime was traveling and riding motorcycles with Vollie. Mozelle was passionate about working in her yard and greenhouses, so much so, that at one time she owned her own nursery.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Gene Sullivan, Wanda Futch, Lisa Johnson and Norman Poteet, all of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Brian Edward and Lorrie Futch of Monticello, Arkansas, Alan Keith and Elizabeth Futch of Lufkin; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Theresa Greenville of Lufkin, Patsy Wise and husband Curtis; nephew, Chad Greenville of Lufkin; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 72 years, Vollie E. Futch; daughter, Nelda Lorraine Bothwell; grandson, Arik Wooten; granddaughter, Shanda Wooten Pierce; and brothers, Donald Greenville and Robert Greenville.

Pallbearers will be Josh Westbrook, Jeremy Westbrook, Terry Wise, Norman Poteet, and Gene Sullivan.
