Visitation for Morgan Montello Wright, 40, of Pollok will be held Sunday, October 5, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon at Carroway Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. at Midway Cemetery in Midway, Texas.
Morgan was born September 27, 1985 in El Campo, Texas, and was called home to be with Jesus Monday, September 29, 2025.
Morgan was a loving wife, mother and daughter and loved her family above everything. She lived life to the fullest. Morgan was an All-Around Rodeo Champion and had a God-given talent with animals, but especially her horses. She held a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with Special Education Certification from Sam Houston State University, and a master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Stephen F. Austin State University. Morgan worked as a Speech Pathologist for the last 10 years, most recently at Lufkin ISD.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Friday Wright II; daughters, Rylee Faith (9) and Rani Grace (6) of Pollok; parents, Rodney and Nancy (Nyegaard) Montello of Pollok; mother-in-law, Tanita (Claud) Hornsby of Lufkin; grandmother, Donna McWhorter of Moss Point, Mississippi; uncle, Kenneth Starns, aunt, Lisa Starns, cousin, Monte Jack (Mary Grace Bluntzer) Starns, all of Midway; uncle, Greg Montello, aunt, Patti Montello, cousin, Zachary (Jessica) Montello, all of El Campo; aunt, Trish Nyegaard of Seguin, cousin, Brittany (Doug) Pharr, Maddox and Presley of Mt. Calm; cousin, Kendra Nyegaard, Brielle and Creed of Seguin; cousin, Clint Nyegaard of New Braunfels; aunt, Lorrie Wright of Haughton, Louisiana; along with numerous other family, rodeo family, co-workers and friends.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J.W. (Pick) Nyegaard of Ganado; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Montello of El Campo; and brother-in-law, Mitchell Todd Wright Jr.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Williams, Clayton Foltyn, Zach Montello, Monte Jack Starns, Ray Clary, Colby Pepper, and Clint Nyegaard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a scholarship fund for her daughters at Southside Bank.
