Molly "Memaw" Sullivan

Funeral services for Molly “Memaw” Sullivan, 91, of Lufkin will be held Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Wallace Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Sullivan was born November 29, 1933 in Tererro, New Mexico to the late Ella B. (McGuire) and Thomas Franklin Irvin, and died Saturday, May 17, 2025 in a local nursing home.

Molly moved to Lufkin when she was a teenager in 1949. She worked at Craig Furniture & Appliances, retiring as Manager after 27 years of service. She was a faithful member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught the “Ladies of Faith” Sunday School class. Molly was known to pick up children from all over the community to give them a ride to church.

Survivors include her son, David Sullivan and wife Sheila of Lufkin; daughters, Elizabeth Wesley and husband Kelly of Lufkin, Becky Moore and husband Pat of Conroe; daughter-in-law, Rosemary Sullivan of Lufkin; grandchildren, David Sullivan and wife Melinda, Chris Sullivan and wife Amber, Chad Sullivan and wife Megan, Jake Moore, Cade Wesley, Jessica Cherry and husband Mason, Trish Lair and husband Brian, Beverly Shaff and husband Bob; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earnest Sullivan; and son, Leonard Sullivan.

Pallbearers will be David Sullivan, Chris Sullivan, Jake Moore, Cade Wesley, Logan Lair, and Jay Vinson.

Honorary pallbearer will be Chad Sullivan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southside Baptist Church, 1615 Tulane Drive, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
