Millie Byrd (Young) Martindale

Funeral services for Millie Byrd (Young) Martindale, 94, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Willis and Brother Mark Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mrs. Martindale was born March 6, 1923 in the Homer Community of Angelina County, Texas to the late Buna (Nivens) and Robert Young, and died Sunday, June 4, 2017 at her residence.

Mrs. Martindale was a realtor for Alfred Edge Realtors in Ingleside for 10 years. She loved sewing and working with flower arrangements. Mrs. Martindale was a member of Fuller Springs Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for several years.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Fregia of Corpus Christi; son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Linda Martindale of College Station; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Rabon Martindale in 2011; and son, Donald Martindale.

Pallbearers will be Elton James, Ronnie Hawkins, Jimmy Passmore, Butch Singletary, Larry Felts, Ray Brown, and Jason Hawkins.
