Funeral services for Addie “Mildred” Denman, 95, of Huntington will be held Thursday, April 4, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at Highway Baptist Church with Brother Lamar Denby officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Addie “Mildred” Denman, age 95, left this earthly life for her heavenly home April 1, 2019. Mrs. Denman was born November 15, 1923, the 2 nd of twelve children born to Otis and Macie (Arnold) Clark. On March 23, 1946 she married Lewis “Leslie” Denman. She was a homemaker, a life-long resident of Huntington, and a member of Highway Baptist Church. Mrs. Denman loved her church and cherished each member of family. Her prayers always ended with “May my children and grandchildren always be found serving the Lord”. When she made chicken and dumplings, one had to act quickly to fill their plate; there were never any leftovers. She taught her daughter, daughters-in-law and granddaughters how to make homemade chicken and dumplings, as well as chicken and dressing. She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and loved flowers and dogwood trees.
Survivors include her son, Larry Denman and wife Carolyn of Buffalo; daughter, Anita Black and husband Mike of Clarksville; daughter-in-law, Sundra Denman of Huntington; grandchildren, Kelly Havard and husband Eric, Keith Denman and wife Jen, all of Lufkin, Holly Howard and husband Paul, Joshua Denman and wife Lori, all of Huntington, Seth Black and wife Becca of Whitehouse, Courtney DeBose and husband Scott of Many, Louisiana, and Les Black of Honolulu, Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Chastity Escobar, Jacob Denman, Adam Denman, Alexa Otteson and husband Dustin, Olivia Havard, Samuel Havard, L.J. Denman, Bryce Denman, Kelsey Knight and husband Jake, her namesake – Addie Howard, Emmy Howard, Nathanael DeBose, Anna DeBose, and twins David & Evan DeBose; great-great-grandchild, Gemma Otteson; brothers, Paul Clark and wife Patsy of Lufkin and Billy Clark and wife Linda of Huntington; sisters, Vera McGaughey of Lufkin and Polly White and husband Pete of Huntington; brother-in-law, Neal Denman; and sister-in-law Joyce Denman Webb. In addition to her family, Mrs. Denman is survived by her long-time home health providers, Christina Gee and Alexandria Mickens, whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Denman is preceded in death by her husband; son, Amos “Lynn” Denman; siblings, Aaron, George, Gene, Gracie McGaughey, Betty Hamilton, one infant brother and infant sister.
Pallbearers are her grandsons, Joshua Denman, Seth Black and Les Black; and grandsons-in-law, Eric Havard, Paul Howard, Scott DeBose, and Jake Knight.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon prior to the service at the church.
