Michael Preston Jenkins

Graveside services for Michael Preston Jenkins, 38, of Lufkin were held Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Michael was born May 20, 1984 in Lufkin to Teresia and Gary Jenkins, and died Monday, November 7, 2022 in Lufkin.

Michael was a lifelong resident of Lufkin and worked for Jenkins Plumbing Contractors. He was a hard worker and his intelligence showed in his work and home life. He had a big heart and used his tough demeanor to hide his sensitive side. Michael was an avid outdoorsman and animal lover who enjoyed hunting and fishing. More than anything, he loved his children and his time spent with them.

Survivors include his daughter, Lexi Jenkins of Lufkin; son, Lathan Jenkins of Lufkin; parents, Gary and Teresia Jenkins of Hudson; sister, Lori Boynton and fiancè Kyle Murray of Lufkin; grandmother, Bobbie Jenkins of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, W.P. Jenkins; grandmother, Lora Griggs; nephew, Hunter Mrusek; uncle, Morris Childers; cousins, Brandi Mettlen and Rohan Jenkins; and great-aunt, Reba Harris.
