Michael "Pappy" Stephen Campbell

Funeral services for Michael “Pappy” Stephen Campbell, 75, of Nacogdoches will be held Saturday, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jerry Young officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mr. Campbell was born July 19, 1943 in McLeansboro, Illinois to the late Eva June (Murphy) and Dale Dean Campbell. Mike went peacefully home to be with the Lord Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at his residence with loved ones by his side. Mike was of the Baptist faith and had rededicated his life to the Lord.

Mike married the love of his life, his Precious, April 8, 1995. They enjoyed spending time with family on the back porch or cruising around old East Texas back roads. Pappy, as he liked to be called, drove trucks for over 40 years and knew every short cut and exit in the United States. He was always up for a good hamburger or watching his beloved Nascar or golf on Sundays. Mike had a love for his brothers, Phil and Jim, and his son, Stephen. He had an amazing memory and never met a stranger.

He leaves behind his wife, Peggy Campbell of Nacogdoches; sons, Stephen Campbell and wife Kim of Evansville, Indiana, Tony Yarbrough and wife Amanda of Lufkin, Charles Yarbrough and wife Sandy of Haughton, Louisiana, and Richard Yarbrough and Jamie Blalock of Lufkin; daughter, Christi Oates of Haughton, Louisiana; brothers, Phil Campbell and wife Judy of Helena, Montana and Jim Campbell and wife Claudia of Big Canoe, Georgia; 19 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents.

Honorary pallbearers will be his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
