Mr. Due was born June 19, 1940 in Huntington, Texas to the late Stella (Williams) and Marion Wilder Due, Sr., and died Sunday, October 15, 2023 in a local hospital.

Merron Due was better known as “Man”. Though this nickname was given to him when he was a child, it certainly fit him throughout his life. He enlisted into the Army at 18 and served our country for 21 years. While serving he advanced to the rank of First Sergeant and even filled the role of Sergeant Major while serving in Korea. He became an instructor at White Sands Missile Base. Throughout his career he still enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family.

After retiring he became a building contractor for many years, then started driving 18 wheelers. He drove over the road and local. He loved logging with his family. He taught his children to have a great work ethic and taught them everything he knew. Always ready to help and truly capable of doing anything he set his mind to. Truly a man of many talents, very capable at plumbing, electrical, framing, finish carpentry, raising a garden, fishing, hunting, military armaments including nuclear missiles, driving a truck, playing guitar and singing, in every way, he was “Man”.

He loved his wife, his children, his grandchildren, his family, his friends and his Lord. He is greatly loved and will be greatly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Betty (Clark) Due of Huntington; daughter, Cheryl Anderson of Dallas; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Ray and Cindy Due of Groveton, James and Annie Due of Huntington, James and Jace Clark of Lubbock, Jack and Lindsey Clark of Byers, Oklahoma, and Andrew and Melanie Clary of Austin; grandchildren and spouses, Brice and Kristen Due, Emily and Robbie Lusk, Hunter Due, Kelsey and Johnathan Feldpausch, Jacob and Lauren Carter, Kylie and Brendon Pinner, Faith and John Wilroy, Presley Witt, Ashlin and Skyler, Abby and Tyler, Erin, Emily, Olivia, Avery, Owen, Kade, Kegan, Ava, Carter, Riley, Jami Lynn and Mariana; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Maurine “Jo” Birdsong of Rowlett; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
