Funeral services for Mary Elaine Skeans Williams, 76, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Dennis Ivey officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Hebron Cemetery in San Augustine County.
Ms. Williams was born July 8, 1942 in Gainesville, Texas to the late Geneva (Reeves) and Enlo Skeans, and died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 in Huntington.
Ms. Williams owned and operated Mary’s Café in Broaddus for many years. She enjoyed taking care of animals and was a rescuer to all strays. Ms. Williams loved flowers and working in her yard. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren and family and the time spent with them.
Survivors include her children, Kerry Nelson and husband Steve of Huntington, Sharon Teare of The Woodlands, Terry Williams and wife Lynn of New Caney, and Karen Gay Doolin and husband Kevin of Lufkin; grandchildren, Meagan Hendrix and husband Brian of Kilgore, Tyler Baxter of Nacogdoches, Lauren Knowles and husband Josh of The Woodlands, Haley Olson and husband Tanner of Mobile, Alabama, and Alecia Sistrunk and husband Jeff of Kingwood; great-grandchildren, Luke Hendrix, Dyllon Hendrix, and Carter Hendrix, Grayson Knowles, Adelynn Sistrunk, Easton Sistrunk, and Briggs Sistrunk; sister, Anna Ruth Hale; sister-in-law, Mary Skeans; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Cecil “Skipper” Taylor; grandson, Chance Williams; brothers, Daniel Skeans, Thomas Skeans, Kenneth Skeans; and sister, Linda Whitehead.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Baxter, Brian Hendrix, J.D. Skeans, Jeff Sistrunk, Josh Knowles, and Tim Harris.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Nelson, Kevin Doolin, and Jimmy Yarbrough.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service at the funeral home.
