Mary Ellon Self

Mary Ellon Self was born August 31, 1953 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of the late Oleta Elizabeth (Lee) and William Doyle Self. She died Saturday, December 22, 2018 at her residence in Zavalla, Texas at the age of 65.

Ms. Self was a Licensed Master Social Worker and had been employed by Heart to Heart Hospice for four years. She was very passionate about her job. Ms. Self was very loving and compassionate, and had a huge heart and sweet soul. She loved her cats, who were her babies. Formerly a resident of Spring, she had lived in Zavalla for six years. We love you infinity cubed … And we will see you on that golden beach.

Survivors include her niece, Angela Lee and husband Billy of Hudson; great niece, Meagan Wheeler and husband Chris of Central; great nephew, Randal Runnels and wife Alene of Hudson; great-great nephews and nieces, Braeden, Braelyn, Emory and Evan; and special friend, Priscilla Johnson of Humble.

Ms. Self was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Tommy Lee Self; and sister, Sandra Jean Self Freshour.
