Mary Nell Patterson

Graveside services for Mary Nell Patterson, 93, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in Pool Cemetery in Montgomery County, Texas with Pastor Allen Crosby officiating.

Mrs. Patterson was born January 9, 1933 in Richards, Texas to the late Hettie (Walker) and John David Jones, and died Friday, July 10, 2026 in a local facility.

Mary Nell had resided in Lufkin for 38 years. She was employed with Gordon’s Jewelry as Office Manager for 15 years. More than anything, she was devoted to her family, and her greatest joys were family gatherings and cooking for her loved ones. She was a faithful follower of Christ and was a member of First Baptist Church of Jewett, where she taught 2nd grade Sunday School for many years.

Survivors include her sons, John Patterson and wife Felicia of Jewett, Texas, Glenn Otis Patterson of North Carolina; granddaughters and spouses, Jaime and Jerome Mottu of Huffman, Amanda and Darrall Severs of Marquez, April Dixon of Porter, Traci Patterson of Houston, Keri Jo and Keith Womack of Tucson, Arizona, Kelli and Zach Ash of Tucson, Arizona; grandsons and spouses, Bobby and Shelia Jumper of Magnolia, Stephen and Leisa Patterson of Valley Mills, Mark and Carrie Dixon of Pollok, Michael and Ashley Dixon of Porter, Scott Patterson of Porter, Corey Patterson of Sierra Vista, Arizona; 23 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, Alvin Glenn “A.G.” Patterson; son, Larry Dean Patterson; and daughter, Nancy Lynette Dixon.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
