Funeral services for Mary Helen Brock Luce, 80, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jeff Jones, Jeremy Gilliam, Reverend Ronald Smith and Reverend Willie Wade officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mrs. Luce was born December 2, 1937 in Apple Springs, Texas to the late Ola Dee (Alexander) and William Franklin Brock, and died Wednesday, July 11, 2018 in a local facility.
Mrs. Luce had resided in Hudson all of her life. She was a cashier and Office Manager at Brookshire Brothers for more than 20 years. She was known for baking and her fried pies. She was a Faithful Pentecostal Christian who was currently worshipping at Westside Apostolic Church. She was an avid reader. She enjoyed her flower gardening and garage sale shopping.
Survivors include her daughters, Stacey Longwell and husband Joe of Lufkin, Sherry Trawick and husband Robert of Huntington, and Lee Johnson of Pollok; son, Larry Luce of Hudson; grandchildren, Erica McGuire of Lufkin, Heather Dunn and husband Jared of Pollok, Priscilla Harlan and husband Brett of Conroe, Sarah Luce of The Woodlands, Robert Wesley and Christie Trawick of Lufkin, Brian Trawick of Lufkin, and Michael Trawick of Conroe; sisters, Robbie Sterling and husband Floyd, Carolyn Lee and husband Jessie, and Marie Mattchett, all of Lufkin; brother, Roland Brock of Hudson; sister-in-law, Betsy Brock of Hudson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Donald Luce; son, Mark Luce; granddaughter, Sherry Lynn Kelliher; son-in-law, Clayton Johnson; brothers, W.H. “Chicken” Brock and James Brock; and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Brock.
Pallbearers will be Austin Gomez, Tim Lee, Jessie Lee, Jared Dunn, Kevin Brock, and Joe Longwell.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Fann, Waymon Dominy, Wayne Dominy, Brett Harlan, James Dominy, Bob Pate, and Bennie Dominy.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
