Mary E. Tucker

Funeral services for Mary E. Tucker, 85, of Lufkin will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Richard Owen officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Ms. Tucker was born November 25, 1938 in Pollok, Texas to the late Tassie Bell (Davis) and Reverend Jefferson Marion Faulk, and died Monday, March 25, 2024 at her residence.

Mary received her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and was self-employed.  She was a lifetime member of Order of the Eastern Star, a charter member of the Midwest Jamboree in Michigan, a member of the Anderson Creek Hunting Club, and the Woman’s Business Association. She enjoyed delivering Toys for Tots in a motorcycle club. Mary was born child number 11 in a large family. She was a multi-talented woman we all looked up to. She was a member of Solid Rock Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughters, Ruby Taylor and husband Jerry, Connie Burnett, all of Lufkin; sons, James Tillar and Lola Seal, Harold Tillar and wife June, all of Lufkin, Ron Howell of Michigan; grandchildren and spouses, Brian and Jennifer Stephens, Wesley and LeeAnn Stephens, Bobby Cook Jr. and  Brandie, John Holt and LeaAnn, Steven Burnett and Ashley, Mary Kathryn and Sean Holda, Billy Smith, Christopher Tillar, James Ryan Tillar, James Andrew Tillar, Robin Lynn, Rhonda Tillar, Lila Tillar, Vicki Smith, Ashley and Russell Baird, Priscilla Burnett; great-granddaughters, Holly Stephens, Macy Holt, Chastity Cook, Haley Cook, Ashlyn Aleeah Ariana Baird, Adison Wesly; great-grandsons, Justice and Carson Stephens, Samuel Baird, Logan Jackson Wesley, Collin Holda, Rylee Holt; great-great-grandsons, Trey Cook, Sawyer Lynn; sister, Jessie Bell Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  granddaughter, Heather Pool; and her siblings, Ruby, Andrew, Marion, Cleo, Loni, Dillon, Seargeant Curtis Lynwood Faulk, Carrol, Jeff, Jr., Briston, Inez, and Albert Lee.

Pallbearers will be John Holt, Bobby Cook, Jackson Wesley, Logan Wesley, Justice Stephens, and Dylan Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Willis and Rylee Holt.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
