Mary Ann Hathorn Rushing Grdinich

Graveside services for Mary Ann Hathorn Rushing Grdinich, 81, of Conroe will be held Monday, October 31, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Wells with Pastor Wesley Matchett officiating.

Mrs. Grdinich was born December 23, 1940 in Alto, Texas to the late Herman S. Hathorn and Helen (Harrison) Hathorn Temple. She died Saturday, October 29, 2022 at her residence in Conroe with loving family at her side.

Mrs. Grdinich was a 1959 graduate of Sam Houston High School. She started her first family with Ralph and they were blessed with four children. She then met the love of her life, Daniel. Mrs. Grdinich retired from Goodson’s Café in Tomball following 22 years as Executive Secretary. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Grdinich enjoyed collecting angels, gardening, bird watching, arts and crafts, and watching old movies and HGTV. She never met a stranger.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Dan Grdinich of Conroe; son and daughter-in-law, Ralph D., Jr. and Becky Rushing of Indiana; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary “Kitty” and Donny Herron of Coldspring and Melissa and Douglas Travis of Conroe; five grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; siblings and spouses, Bobbie Jean and Ronnie Briggs of Plantersville, Douglas and Debbie Hathorn of LaPorte, and Glenda and John Carwile of Atascocita; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband of 24 years, Ralph D. Rushing, Sr.; son, Robert Wayne Rushing; brother, Jimmy Temple; and stepmother, Barbara (Thompson) Hathorn.

Pallbearers will be Doug Garrett, Trey Hood, Jonathan Herron, Riley Hood, Zach Cuellar, Brandon Sappenfield, Noah Eldrige, and Donny Herron.
