Marvin Earl McKnight

Funeral services for Marvin Earl McKnight, 88, of Burke will be held Sunday, May 11, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church,

5632 FM 1818. Diboll, Texas 75941, with Brother Jerry Young officiating. Interment will follow at 4:00 p.m. at Peebles Cemetery in Livingston.

Mr. McKnight was born October 2, 1936 in Livingston, Texas to the late Hazel (Jarrel) and Clifton C. McKnight, and died Friday, May 9, 2025 at home, surrounded by family.

He was a member of Pine Grove Missionary Baptist Church for the last several years. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1954-1958 serving as the ship’s barber, followed by 4 years in the Reserves.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, May McKnight; one sister, Dorothy Lowe; sister-in-law, Mary Ann McKnight; his children through blood and love, sons, Lloyd McKnight and wife Teresa, Earl McKnight and wife Linda, and Ron Winch and wife Debra; daughters, Teresa McKnight, and Linda McClain and husband Rick; 12 grandchildren, Jr., Clifton, ToColla, Emily, Jennifer, Amy, Sara, Jake, Jelisa, Jeremy, Justin and Matthew; 19 great-grandchildren, Bryce, Gabe, Keeley, Holden, Jonah, Pearl, Conner, Gauge, Tristan, Raelynn, Emilee, Bethanee, Alexander, Kaylee, Caden, Jada, Trey, Liliana, and Matteo; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of family and friends.

Marvin is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, JL McKnight, George McKnight, Harm Vinton McKnight, and Dan Raymond McKnight; and sisters, Ellen Long and Betty Thomas.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon prior to the services.
