Funeral services for Martin G. Cochran, 81, of Huntington will be held Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Troy Stanbery officiating. Interment will follow in the Huntington Cemetery.
Mr. Cochran was born August 14, 1944 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Catherine (Garland) and B.F. Cochran, and died Sunday, December 21, 2025 at his residence.
He was a lifetime resident of Huntington. He was a Huntington High School graduate and played on the 1962 Basketball State Champion team. In the mid-70s he started Martin Cochran Logging, running it for 15 years, and was the retired owner of Rayburn Country Store. Mr. Cochran enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working in his store.
Survivors include his wife, LouAnne (Crawford) Cochran of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Mitch Foreman of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Cory and Andrea Cochran of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren and spouses, Kelsey Foreman, Karlee and Cameron Smith, and Emmy Cochran; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Bethany Foreman, Sophie and Noah Smith; sisters and brother-in-law, Judy Spivey of Lufkin, Betty Jordan of Huntington, and Marijo and Linwood McGaughey of Tyler; his faithful helper, Glenn Hale; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Amy Cochran; brother, Muggins Cochran; and sister, Sandra Stovall.
Pallbearers will be Greg Spivey, Andy Spivey, Jarod Murphy, Lance Jordan, Jason Cochran, and Justin Cochran.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Cochran, Randy McGaughey, and Keith Stovall.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Huntington Food Program, c/o Huntington First Baptist Church, 102 N. Main Street, Huntington, Texas 75949 or Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75904.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the funeral home in Huntington.
