Martha Clyde Mills Malone

Martha Clyde Mills Malone, 93, of Lufkin, was called to her heavenly home Sunday, August 4, 2024. Martha loved the Lord and was a long-time member of Herty Baptist Church. She was a devoted prayer warrior for her family and was known for praying for each individual family member by name. Martha thrived on cooking for and taking care of her family. Her kitchen always offered hot coffee and a homemade treat for any friend or neighbor who stopped by. She loved her flowers and kept up with the gardening and could be found wielding her own weed eater at 92 years old. Each of her family members has a treasured piece of embroidery from her busy hands. She was a loving wife to Arthur Howard Malone for 59 years, setting the example for a Godly marriage for her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 8, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Steve Cowart and Brother Mark Forrest officiating. Interment will follow in McKindree Cemetery.

Mrs. Malone was born September 20, 1930 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Alma Velma (Scott) and Hollis Othella Mills. She was a lifetime resident of Lufkin.

Survivors include her daughter, Amy Schultz of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Kriste Malone of Lufkin; grandchildren and spouses, Caitlin and Jeremiah Lee, Emily Schultz, Hannah and Dustin Crawford, Mason and Alex Malone, and Kyle Schellhase; five great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Charles “Buddy” and Linda Sue Mills of Lufkin; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Howard Malone; and brother, Hollis Edwin Mills.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Roach, Denny Kio, Kevin Terry, Mason Malone, Jeremiah Lee, and Larry Mills.

The family extends special thanks to The Joseph House for the loving care given to Mrs. Malone.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
