Mario Garcia

Funeral services for Mario Garcia, 57, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, October 24, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. Garcia was born November 13, 1962 in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico to Albina (Zambrano) and Jesus Garcia, and died Friday, October 16, 2020 in a Houston hospital.

Formerly of Leggett, Mr. Garcia had resided in Lufkin for 18 years. He retired from the Buck Creek Plant at Lufkin Industries. Mr. Garcia loved the Houston Astros, nature, plants, astronomy, traveling, and his family. He was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Survivors include his wife, Dina Garcia of Lufkin; daughters, Rosa Elvira Garcia, Noralba Garcia, and Miriam Garcia; son, Mario Garcia, Jr.; numerous grandchildren; mother, Albina Garcia; brothers, Juan Garcia, Antonio Garcia, Humberto Garcia, Martin Garcia, Jesus Garcia, and Manuel Garcia; sisters, Maria Garcia, Margareta Garcia, Marina Garcia, and Patricia Garcia; stepdaughters, Claudia, Norma, and Jasmin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jesus Garcia; and sister, Rosa Garcia.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
