Marie Bullock Ward

Funeral services for Marie Bullock Ward, 99, of Bowling Green, Kentucky will be held Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Jim Vaughan officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Ward was born December 5, 1921, in Grassland, Texas, to the late Lettie Fidelia (Cooper) and James Edgar Bullock, and died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Mrs. Ward had resided in Lufkin most of her life, prior to moving to Bowling Green, Kentucky, in 2010 to live with her son. She was an LPN at Lufkin State School for 10 years. She loved sewing and doing handwork, especially crocheting afghans for family and friends.  Mrs. Ward was a member of the Fourth and Groesbeck Church of Christ. Having been baptized into Christ in her late teens, she had been a Christian for more than 80 years.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Janie Ward of Bowling Green, Kentucky; grandchildren and their spouses, Davina Van Winterswyk, Deanna “Dee” and Vance Kirby, David Leonard Skelton, Roy “Bubba” Rogers, Wesley James and Lilith Ward, Jason Lynn and Rhonda Ward, Matthew Jeremy and Shannon Ward, Jennifer Leigh and Andy Murray, Joel Arthur and Llana Ward; 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great, great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband, Arthur Ward; a son, Tommy Ward; a daughter, Sandra Griffin, brothers, James Leonard Bullock and D.L. Bullock; and sisters, Velda Bullock, Yvonne Taylor, and Nadine Swain.

Pallbearers will be Jason Dohmann, David Skelton, Scotty Beasley, Creed Moore, Nathan Van Winterswyk, and Vance Kirby.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon prior to the service.
