Marie Stanford

Funeral services for Marie Stanford, 88, of the Saron Community will be held Friday, October 9, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Huntington with Brother Raymond Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Tom Havard Cemetery.

Mrs. Stanford was born August 16, 1938 in Zavalla, Texas and died Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at her residence.

Mrs. Stanford was loving and caring and spent her life serving others in Home Health Care. She loved her family more than anything and showed her love by keeping the house and caring for each of them. She also loved to garden. She attended Johnson Baptist Church and will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her sons, Rickey Stanford, Roger Stanford, both of Zavalla; granddaughter, Melissa Whitworth and husband Jeremy of Cuero; grandson, Richard Stanford and wife Haylea of Zavalla; several other grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Irene Connor of Woodville; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Rose Lee and Johnny Gilcrease; son, Randy Stanford; grandson, Jessie Stanford; brothers, Jerry Gilcrease, Jimmy Harris; and sisters, Mary Lou Smith and Clair Mae.

Pallbearers will be Richard Stanford, Jeremy Whitworth, Ryan Serece, and Connor Serece.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday morning prior to the service.
