Marguerite Adams

Funeral services for Marguerite Adams, 102, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Mark Newton officiating. Interment will follow in the Oaklawn Memorial Park in Center, Texas.

Mrs. Adams was born October 23, 1915 in Center, Texas to the late Flossie (Pate) and Frank Wallace, and died Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at her residence.

Mrs. Adams became a Hairdresser at the age of 18 and retired after 79 years. After moving to Houston, she then moved to Lufkin, where she worked at Lemon Tree for over 44 years. Mrs. Adams was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Lufkin and loved her Sunday School Class, Mary Martha.

Survivors include her son, Ted Adams of Lufkin; sisters, Sue Hagler of Center and Marsha Lou Askew of Beaumont; granddaughters, Kim Cox of Fulshear, Amy McClellen and Haley Beyer, both of League City; brother, Joe Wallace of Center; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paschal Adams; son, Hal Adams; brothers, Benjamin Wallace and Jessie Franklin Wallace; and sisters, Vada Tinsley and Marquette Emmanis.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Lufkin Building Fund, 106 E. Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
