Funeral services for Margie Keener, 91, of Diboll will be held Thursday, November 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel at the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Cary Modisett officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Keener was born May 8, 1927 in Wells, Texas to the late Sybil Clara (Bailey) and John Duran Bobbitt, and died Monday, November 5, 2018 in Wells Nursing Home.
Mrs. Keener was a lifelong resident of Diboll. She was a waitress at Wyatt’s Cafeteria. She loved playing card games and dominoes with her great nieces and nephews. Mrs. Keener was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sister, Ona Faye Rice and husband Doyle of Pasadena; brother, Jimmy Bobbitt and wife Janette of Katy; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Keener, Sr.; son, Ray Keener, Jr.; sisters, Billie Ray Rice and husband Robert Luther and Lottie Jo Bobbitt.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon, prior to the service, at the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel.
