Marciel Mcgilvra Baker

Funeral services for Marciel McGilvra Baker, 89, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joshua Poage officiating. Interment will follow in the Caledonia Cemetery in Garrison.

Mrs. Baker was born July 6, 1935 in Elkhart, Texas to the late Nellie Bly (Davis) and Jesse Ernest Johnson, and died Sunday, February 2, 2025 in a local hospice facility. She worked as an LVN for many years. She enjoyed reading, quilting and serving the Lord.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Jim Clark of Richmond, Cathy and Jimmy Brooks of Nacogdoches, and Connie and Doug Loop of Columbus, Arkansas; grandchildren and spouses, Timothy Rosson, Patrick Rosson, Marcie Rosson and Ashley Tate, James and Jenny Clark, Michelle and Nicholas Maresh, Leah Martines, Jennifer and Tex McGarry, Bryre and Matthew Creamer, Joshua Cox, and Evan Clark; great-grandchildren, Noah Cox, Trinity Cox-Morales, Avery Clark, Remington Maresh, Abby Clark, Lexi and Bailey McGarry, Hayden, Haddie and Hunter Creamer, and great-great-grandson, Jaxson Cox-Morales.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Vicki Prater.

Pallbearers will be James King, Jr., David Garcia, Tex McGarry, Nicholas Maresh, Matthew Creamer, and Mike Wood.

Honorary pallbearers will be Timothy Rosson, Patrick Rosson, James Clark, and Joshua Cox.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon prior to the services.
