Funeral services for Lula Mae Day Page, 91, of Huntington, will be held Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Shawnee Church of JESUS CHRIST with Brother Cary Modisett officiating and her grandson, Brother Cory Capps, Eulogist. Interment will follow in Huntington Cemetery.
Lula Mae Day Page was born in Manning, Texas to Leon and Ruby Tatum Day on October 3, 1927. She was the middle child of the five surviving “Darling Day Daughters,” having lost an older sibling at birth. She was peacefully called from this earthly life to life everlasting in her long home on Saturday, April 6, 2019. We firmly believe that she heard the call, “Come home, thou good and faithful servant, enter ye into the joy of the LORD.”
Mrs. Page was a charter member of Shawnee Church of JESUS CHRIST, where she served as secretary for many years. She loved her church and her church family; she loved to greet and visit with her many friends at church. She continued to greet and visit with her new friends after she moved to a care facility. She stayed faithful and true to her GOD, never straying or being shaken in her Faith and love for her GOD. She loved her family dearly and was affectionally known as Granny and Aunt Lula to many. She was well known for her famous Cocoa Drop Cookies and Cookie Sheet Cakes.
She is survived by two daughters, Phyllis Page Lambert, Patti Page White and husband Billy; one son, David Timothy Page; and daughter-in-law, Jolene Mathews. She is also survived by grandchildren: Scott Lambert and wife Rhonda, Angela Lackey and husband Chris, Jeannie Lambert, Christi Lambert, Jon Lambert and wife April, Brenda Herrada and husband Manuel, Cameron Capps, Chase Capps and wife Jennifer, Cory Capps and wife Charisma, Rebekah Capps, Erika Page, Jason White and Teresa Hill; twenty-four great grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Page is also survived by two loving sisters, Novelle Day Trapasso and Katherine Day Thomson, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her children, Eulon Adron Page; son, John Adron Page; grandsons, Caleb Jon David Page and Herkie Lambert; great granddaughter, Megan Villareal; son-in-law, Eugene Lambert; and sisters, Alice Day, Gladys Day Havard and Ruth Day.
Pallbearers will be Mrs. Page’s grandsons: Scott Lambert, Jon Lambert, Chris Lackey, Cameron Capps, Chase Capps, Cory Capps and Jason White. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandsons.
