Lucille E. "Lucy" Meyer

Funeral services for Lucille E. “Lucy” Meyer, 83, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Richard Owen and Greg Mabry officiating. Interment will follow in the Largent Cemetery.

Mrs. Meyer was born March 5, 1942 in Mount Ida, Arkansas to the late Alma O. (Hass) and Bernest Mabry, and died Friday, April 11, 2025 in a local hospital.

Lucy retired as an Underwriter from Swain & Baldwin Insurance after 27 years of service. She was a member of Solid Rock Family Church.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, David G. Meyer of Lufkin, Sr.; sons, David G. Meyer, Jr. and wife Karen Johnson of Huntington and Dr. Darry G. Meyer and wife Miranda of Lufkin; daughter, Darla G. Meyer of Tyler; grandchildren and spouses, Colby Meyer, Hunter Meyer, Rachael and Justin Baker, Kade and Murphy Meyer, Zoe Meyer, Bryce Cordova, Andrew Meyer, Brynn Meyer, Presley Meyer and Rose Meyer; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Bill Hall of Hot Spring Arkansas; extended family, DeReigh Steen, Kelly Brady, Mary Johnson and Lane Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Colby Meyer, Andrew Meyer, Kade Meyer, Hunter Meyer, Bryce Cordova, Richard Little and David Bilbo.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Whisenant, Rick Hellwig, Mickey Swor and Bobby Knight.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
