Graveside services for Linda Janelle Webb, 79, of Etoile will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Blue Springs Cemetery with Pastor Keith Payne officiating.
Lin Webb was born April 29, 1942 in Norfolk, Nebraska to the late Daurice (Stalnaker) and Joe Amen, and died Thursday, October 14, 2021 in Huntington. She married William Milton Webb in 1960 in Alliance, Nebraska.
Lin Webb was always a hard worker and a dedicated volunteer, delivering meals on wheels and helping in the community. Bill and Lin bought Shirley Creek Marina in 1986. Their sons, Curt and MJ, helped run the marina for 18+ years. They made many dear friends, enjoyed many great times, and endured a few hardships while running the marina but they all considered Etoile “home”.
When they first bought the marina, it was clear to Lin that she wouldn’t be able to get away to attend church, something she loved very much. A couple of young missionary men from Denman Avenue Baptist Church came to visit and from then on, church (dubbed “Shirley Creek Mission”) was held at 9:00 a.m. every Sunday in the café. Finally, Jim Wood helped get the building built on FM 226, just a mile from the marina, which is now Shirley Creek Baptist Church.
Lin was an avid pianist and played at church for many years. She was very musical and once even sang for President Eisenhower with the “Panhandle Pals”! Her favorite songs were “This is the Day that the Lord Hath Made” and “Down to the River to Pray”. In later years, she enjoyed spending time over lunch with the Red Hatters.
One of Lin’s favorite things to do was to prepare a meal for her family and have them all enjoy good food and great fun together. She has an awesome family who loves her very much.
Linda Janelle Webb was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, William M. Webb.
She is survived by her daughter, Kary Jo Pickett and husband Michael; son, Milton James Webb and wife Sherri; son, Curt Joseph Webb and wife June; brother, Steven Joe Amen and wife Kay; nephew, Shane Steven Amen; niece, Dayna Royer; and sister, Jan Amen. Lin has nine grandchildren: Jacob Crowder and wife Lacey, Morgan Lin Collums, Kade Logan Ames and wife Valerie, Colton James Webb, Regan Leigh Webb, Devan Rae Webb, Dustin Joseph Webb, Chase Aaron Webb, and Linsie Bobbitt and husband Justin. Lin has four great-grandchildren: Tesslin Jo Tucker, Joseph Ryan Coffelt, Kason Kyle Merca, and Daniel Cade Bobbitt.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Crowder, Dustin Webb, Colton Webb, Chase Webb, Kade Ames, and Shane Amen.
