Linda Smith

Graveside services for Linda Smith, 81, of Lufkin will be held Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the Old Union Cemetery with Pastor Scott Reed officiating.

Ms. Smith was born March 13, 1940 in Athens, Texas to the late Mae Etta (Woodall) and Charles Morrison, and died Sunday, November 7, 2021 in a local nursing home.

Ms. Smith was a Registered Nurse and worked at Woodland Heights Medical Center and several other hospitals. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed watching football and the Houston Astros. Ms. Smith was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Tim and Deidra Cruse of Lufkin, Teresa and Manuel Luna of Burke, Jarrett Smith of Temple, David Smith of Oklahoma, Jennifer Maffei and Elliott Baker of Colorado; grandchildren, Regan Cruse of Mansfield, Olivia Cruse of Lufkin, Jerome Florez of Houston, Nicholas Florez of Conroe, Brianna Baker of Colorado; sister, Patricia DuBose of Lufkin; brother, James “Chuck” Morrison of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pallbearers will be Sy Mayes, Darian Allred, Bobby DuBose, Billy Childers, and Johnny Childers.
