Linda Dempsey Roach

Funeral services for Linda Dempsey Roach, 77, of Lufkin, will be held Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel located in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Brother Ron Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Ms. Roach was born July 11, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Dale LaVelle (Allen) and Willard Aaron Dempsey, Sr. She died Saturday, October 14, 2017 at her daughter’s house in Katy.

Ms. Roach was a retired clerk for the Veterans Administration’s Outpatient Clinic, and had lived in Lufkin all her life. She was a graduate of Lufkin High School, and loved going to the Panther football games. She also enjoyed tennis and taking care of her fur babies. Being with family was her favorite pastime, though. She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her children and their spouses, Don D. and Veronica Roach of Lufkin, Deshay Prevatt and Chris Martin of Katy; grandsons, Reagan Prevatt of Katy, Don A. Roach of Lufkin, and Blake Martin of Katy; brother, W.A. Dempsey of Lufkin; sister-in-law, Jany Dempsey of Lufkin; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jack Dempsey; and sister-in-law, Jan Dempsey.

Pallbearers will be her family.
