Linda Louise Smelley Perry

February 12, 1941 — July 25, 2025

Lufkin, TX

Funeral services for Linda Louise Smelley Perry, 84, of Lufkin, will be held Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Darren Hoke officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Perry was born February 12, 1941 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Dorris Nell (Lamb) and Ghent Smelley, and died Friday, July 25, 2025, at her residence.

Linda was a lifelong resident of Lufkin. She was a stay-at-home mother, but she had also worked in the office of AG Perry & Son as well as obtaining her real estate license in March of 2000, after which she worked for Huggins Martin Real Estate for 6 years.

In her free time, Linda and George Bill enjoyed travelling on their 3-wheel trike and could not wait for the weekend to get here to go riding. It wasn’t anything for them to ride 400 miles on any given Sunday.

In her youth, Linda was very active in the Girl Scouts and would proudly share stories of those days spent with her fellow members. Linda was a jack-of-all-trades: she previously worked at a daycare and had also obtained her CDL driver’s license. Whatever her endeavors, she did with pride, dignity and love. She would help anybody and do anything for anyone. You could catch her out mowing the lawn or taking care of the kids - there was nothing she wouldn’t do if she thought it served a purpose.

Survivors include her daughter, GeorgAnna Harper of Lufkin; son, William Perry and wife Donna of Lufkin; grandchildren, Kaitlin Harper, Eric Harper, Nick Harper, Jeremy Harper, Parker Perry, and Logan Stoddard; great-granddaughter, Lottie Renè Perry; brother, Eddie Smelley; stepbrother, Pete Campbell; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George William Perry; brothers, Michael Smelley and Richard Smelley; stepmother, Ilene Shoaf; and grandson, Kyle Little.

Pallbearers will be Parker Perry, Nick Harper, Jeremy Harper, Eric Harper, Mike Nerren, and Jerry Hardy.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to our extended family, Amanda and Michael Stilley and their son, Kason.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
