Funeral services for Linda Sue Blake Morris of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jacob Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Linda Sue Blake Morris, loving mother and wife, went to be with her Heavenly Father Friday, December 5, 2025 at the age of 86.

Linda was born April 13, 1939 in Roswell, New Mexico to the late Martha Virginia (Barnes) and Charles Perry Blake. She was an honor graduate of Roswell High School, Roswell, New Mexico. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Houston, Houston, Texas. She also graduated magna cum laude with a Masters Degree in Elementary Education from Stephen F. Austin State University, Nacogdoches, Texas.

Linda was employed with Humble Oil & Refining Company (now Exxon), Bell Helicopter, and Lufkin Independent School District. She retired from LISD after 26 years of teaching second grade at Brookhollow Elementary School and Trout Primary School. She had the honor of to the Teacher of the Year twice.

Linda was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church and the Bible Survey Sunday school class.

She is survived by her daughter, Tasha Renee Marlow; son and daughter-in-law, Clinton and Brenda Morris; grandson, Josh Kimmey and wife Missy Heagle; and great-granddaughter, Liliana Heagle-Kimmey.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Donney Z. Morris; and sister, Dorothy Jean Shelton

We would like to thank the private caretakers, Ginger Baker, Christie Kendrick, Brandi Page, Liz Turner, Vicki Jones, and Carlon Maxie, Elite Hospice, and Pinnacle Assisted Living for their wonderful and loving care of Mom.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.
