Linda Smithheart Mcdaniel

Funeral services for Linda Smithheart McDaniel, 70, of Springtown will be held Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ronnie Frankens and Brother Terry Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. McDaniel was born September 12, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Delber Jean (Goodwin) and Paul Smithheart. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family at her home in Springtown, Texas Saturday, October 26, 2024 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Mrs. McDaniel graduated from Lufkin High School in 1973 and resided in Central most of her adult life. She worked for the City of Lufkin and Central Water Control and Improvement District for a total of 30 years. She was a longtime member of Eastview United Pentecostal Church until her health hindered attendance. Mrs. McDaniel enjoyed playing with her grandkids, thrifting, cooking, baking, fishing, traveling, and listening to old gospel music. She had lived in Springtown for the last two years.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan “Bucky” McDaniel of Springtown; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Garrett Hilton of Springtown; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Lori McDaniel of Springtown; grandchildren, Nate McDaniel, Addy Hilton, Nash McDaniel, and Hayes Hilton; sister and brother-in-law, Natalie and David Fulmer of Fulshear; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Sarah “Janie” Nunez and LaNell Woltz and Charles “Tinker” Dees; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Janice McDaniel; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Paul “Doug” Smithheart and Barbara Smithheart-Brookshire; brother, Bobby Joe Smithheart; and sister-in-law, Mary “LuLu” Burrous.

Pallbearers will be Scott McDaniel, Garrett Hilton, Nate McDaniel, Zachary Fulmer, Joshua Smithheart, and Kelly Russell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Nash McDaniel, Hayes Hilton, Kolby Russell, Koty Russell, and Greg Russell.

The family extends special thanks to the Harbor Hospice Staff: Karen Carter, Tekia Coakley, Kelly Bell, and Monica for their care of Mrs. McDaniel.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.
