Linda Darlene Smith

Visitation for Linda Darlene Smith, 69, of Huntington will be held Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Carroway Funeral Home in Lufkin. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Ms. Smith was born October 18, 1954 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Fannie Bell (Permenter) and Jacob Samuel Smith, and died Tuesday, November 7, 2023 in a Jasper, Texas hospital. She was employed with the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council as a compliance officer for more than 20 years. Ms. Smith had been a member of and sang in the choir at Harmony Hill Baptist Church since 1986.

Survivors include her brother, Roger D. Page and wife Emma; sister, Dottie Page Crawford Wood; nieces and nephews, Karen S. Crawford, Brandi Wood and fiancé Fred Cook, James A. Wood and fiancé Laura Anne, Michael Page, and Jennifer Coker; great-nieces and nephews, Krista Sue Anderson and husband Anthony, Laura Crawford Byerly and husband Blake, Tyler Hatt, Stephanie Hilton and husband Clint, Matthew Crawford, Cassie Crawford, Michelle Page Potterfield and husband Reed, Whitney Page, Jason Page, Ayerk Masters, Ashley Coker and husband Eric Markovich, Jadyn Wood and fiancé Madison Bishop, and Jacson Wood; great-great-nieces and nephews, Presley Sue Anderson, James Anthony Anderson, Jr., Crystal Hilton, Logan Hilton, Matthew Crawford, Jr., and Savannah Crawford.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Denita Eileen Smith; brother-in-law, Bobby J. Wood, Sr.; niece, Denita Darlene “Dee Dee” Neal; nephews, Billy Crawford, Jr., Paul Wayne Crawford, and SSgt. Bobby J. Wood, Jr.; great-great-nephew, Bradleyjo Hilton; and aunt, Margie Permenter Corcoran.
