Lillie Ivaline (Kirkland) Parrott

Funeral services for Lillie Ivaline (Kirkland) Parrott, 88, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Bruce S. Main and Pastor Mark Newton officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Parrott was born January 1, 1929 in Lufkin, Texas to the late William Wiley and Lillie Dale (Sturrock) Kirkland, and died Tuesday, November 21, 2017 in a local hospital.

Ivaline resided in Lufkin all of her life. She accepted Jesus as her Savior when she was 10 years old at the Second Baptist Church and was baptized in Cunningham’s Lake by Bro. Alms. She graduated from Lufkin High School in 1946 and Lufkin Secretarial College. She worked in secretarial positions until her retirement. She enjoyed studying genealogy, sewing, and painting. She contributed a great deal to her Sunday School class. Ivaline was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Lufkin, Lufkin Chapter #382 Order of the Eastern Star, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Lufkin Chapter 713 and AARP. Ivaline was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her main priority in life was her family. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Delbert W. Parrott of Lufkin; son, Robert W. “Bert” McKinney and wife Sally (Passierb) of Lufkin; daughters, Judy Maddux and husband “Bud” Maddux of Lufkin, Patricia Main and husband Bruce of West Chicago, Illinois, and Carolyn Deibler of Georgetown; grandchildren, Kim Lovelace and husband Mike, Katie Baker and husband Matt, Andrew McKinney and wife Bonnie, all of Lufkin, Michael Selman and wife Beth of Dallas, and Melanie Marr and husband Cornelius of West Chicago, Illinois; great-grandchildren, Kortney Platt and husband Clint, Kyle Lovelace, Rohan Marr, Lorelai Marr, Natalie Baker, Elizabeth Baker and Sylvie Baker; great-great-grandsons, Cooper Platt and Cannon Platt; brother and sisters-in-law, Burl and Mary Ann Kirkland and Margie Kirkland, all of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, W. A. “Bill” and Addie Mae (Spain) Kirkland, Ernest E. and Virginia (Grant) Kirkland, Lloyd and Lois (Hickey) Kirkland, and Wiley D. Kirkland; and son-in-law, Dr. Timothy A. Deibler.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Andrew McKinney, Kyle Lovelace, Cornelius Marr, Mike Lovelace, Matt Baker and Clint Platt.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Lufkin Building Campaign, 106 E. Bremond Avenue, Lufkin, Texas 75901.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon prior to the service at the funeral home.
