Lillie Fae (Gay) Mccall

Funeral services for Lillie Fae Gay McCall, 86, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Ron Meadows officiating. Interment will follow in the Bennett Cemetery in Apple Springs.

Lillie Fae Gay McCall came into this world November 5, 1937 and passed peacefully at home Wednesday, December 13, 2023.

Even though tiny in size, Lillie was a mighty woman. She was a wonderful Mother who poured out so much love on her family that her love sustains us even today. For those who knew her, and witnessed her suffering due to a degenerative spine, have known that suffering never stopped her. She and her husband, Bill, led a ministry across the East Texas region that spanned over 50 years. She was a constant witness and never missed an opportunity to share God’s love and compassion for the world.

She enjoyed many things in life. Not only was she a gifted doll and ceramic artist, but to hear her boys tell it, just about the best fisher woman around. Lillie could play a mean game of “42” with many family memories spent around the domino table. But most important of all is that the inheritance she left was not one of worldly riches, but rather one of wisdom, love and a compassion for others.

Survivors include her sons, John McCall, Billy McCall and wife Paula, Matthew McCall and wife Melissa; daughter, Belinda McCall; grandchildren, Jerremy McCall and wife Kresta, Louis McCall, Duke McCall and wife Heather, Mitch McCall and wife Whitney, Chris Reed; great-grandchildren, Logan Holcomb, Alyssa Holcomb, Hunter McCall, Ryan McCall, Walker McCall, Madilynn McCall; sisters, Melba Gay Stark, Eddie Mae Hosmer; along with numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Esther (Harvell) and Clarence Gay; her husband of 64 years, Reverend William John “Bill” McCall; and grandchildren, Joshua Reed and Autumn McCall Holcomb.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service.
