Lillian Murray Dunn

Celebration of the life of Lillian Murray Dunn, 82, of Lufkin, will be held Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Jacob Fitzgerald officiating.  Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Dunn was born January 28, 1936 in Montgomery, Alabama, the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Cooper) and William Tabor Murray. She went to be with her Lord on Friday, November 9, 2018.

Mrs. Dunn was a homemaker and a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Family was most important to her, and she loved them unconditionally. Her family recalls Lillian’s love of chocolate and how she enjoyed cooking and decorating for holidays. Mrs. Dunn had served as a Sunday School teacher for many years at First Baptist Church Lufkin. She loved her Lord and was always sharing the love of Christ with everyone.

Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Dunn Rush and husband Gary of Lufkin; her son, Jimmy Dunn and wife Pam of Lufkin; granddaughters, Ashley McCarty of Lufkin, Paige Wolf of Montgomery, Texas, Amber Dunn, and Marcie Dunn, both of Lufkin; grandson, Aaron Dunn of Lufkin; six great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Carolyn and George Spivey of Port Orange, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jane Murray of Jacksonville, Florida; cousins, Dianne Pouland and husband David of Freer, Josh Pouland of Canada, and Jenna Kelly of San Antonio; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

Mrs. Dunn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Dunn, in 1995; grandson, Jay Rush; great grandson, Jack Wolf, IV; and siblings, William Murray and Elizabeth Crittendon.

Pallbearers will be Colton Evett, Tim Reese, John Wolf, Michael McCarty, Max Wolf, and Ronnie Lusk. Honorary pallbearer is Aaron Dunn.

The family will receive friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Monday morning at the funeral home.
