Funeral services for Lillian Geneva Armstrong, 86, of Lufkin will be held Sunday, December 29, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Brother Steve Cowart and Brother Lester Hutson officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Mrs. Armstrong was born August 7, 1938 in Burke, Texas to the late Sarah Margret (Grimes) and Benton Bryan Franklin, and died Wednesday, December 25, 2024 in a local nursing home.
Glenn and Lillian founded Hop & S Graphics in 1965 in downtown Lufkin, where they became beacons of hope and pillars of the community. Following Glenn's passing in 2016, Lillian's determination and resilience inspired others as she continued to operate the business, spreading joy and kindness to all her customers.
Her profound love for family and friends was unmistakable. Through her photography, she skillfully captured cherished moments, documenting weddings and various events involving clients, friends, family, and church members. The memories she created will resonate through the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
As a devoted member of Trinity Baptist Church, Lillian's life was a shining example of her unwavering Christian faith, marked by selflessness, compassion, and unwavering devotion. Her enduring legacy is characterized by a warm smile, infectious laughter, and unwavering support, leaving behind a testament to the profound impact of her faith, service, and generosity.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend who inspired countless lives.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Riley and Joy Armstrong; grandchildren, Savannah Burkett, Alec John Paul Haden, Jacob Haden, Kaitlyn Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Truman Black, Elika Black, Ainsley Campbell; sisters and brother-in-law, Nila Boddie, Sadie and J.T. Jones; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 59 years, Glenn Armstrong; daughter, Lugene Armstrong Haden Keels; and brother, John Earnest Franklin.
Pallbearers will be Alec Haden, Jacob Haden, Savannah Burkett, Kaitlyn Armstrong, Richard Warner, Nathan Jones, Stephen Jones, and John Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lon Rhodes, Marcus Jones, Paul Draper, J.R. Ocasiones, and Nicholas Jones.
