Lidia Ortega

Mass of Christian Burial for Lidia Ortega, 39, of Lufkin will be held Friday, October 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with Fr. Denzil Vithanage officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel.

Lidia was born October 2, 1981 in Guanajuato, Mexico to Maria Delrosario Rocha and Ladislao Ortega, and died Saturday, September 25, 2021 in a local hospital.

Lidia had been employed with Lufkin ISD for 17 years. She was a Parts Clerk and Bus Driver in Transportation Services. She loved her job and driving the bus. Lidia loved to cook and family was very important to her. She loved her children dearly. Lidia was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include her significant other, Fernando Rubio of Lufkin; daughter, Felicity Ortega of Lufkin; sons, Xavier Torres and Jose Torres, both of Lufkin; daughter, Adalynn Ortega of Lufkin; parents, Maria and Ladislao Ortega of Lufkin; sisters,  Carina Ortega, Lorena Ortega, Veronica Ortega, Jessica Ortega Rodriguez, Elvira Ortega, all of Lufkin; father of her children Felicity, Xavier and Jose, Jose L. Torres of Lufkin; eight nieces and nephews; three great-nieces; and numerous other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her uncles, Carmelo Ortega Rojas, Guadalupe Ortega, Jesus Rocha; aunt, Petra Ortega Rojas; grandmother, San Juana Gonzales Rocha; and grandfathers, Ladislao Ortega and Rafael Rocha.

Pallbearers will be Xavier Torres, Oscar Diosdado, Luis Toledo, Fernando Rubio, Jose Miguel Rubio, and Franco Padilla.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday evening at the funeral home.
