Lidia (Reyna) Cantu

Funeral services for Lidia (Reyna) Cantu, 71, of Lufkin will be held Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carroway Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cantu was born April 1, 1953 in Crystal City, Texas and died Saturday, November 9, 2024 in a local hospital.

Lidia was employed by Lufkin ISD for over 13 years, as an assistant manager for the cafeteria. She was a tough woman. She loved to fish and tend to her garden. She would love cooking for her family and made some good flour tortillas. Even though she was a simple woman, she had a good sense of humor.

Survivors include her husband, Erly Cantu, Sr. of Lufkin: sons, Erly Cantu Jr. and wife Mellissa and Robert Cantu, all of Lufkin: daughters, “Tiggy” aka Cindy Cantu and Alicia Cantu, both of Lufkin: son, Paul  Rodriguez and wife Anna Nicole; granddaughters, Erica Adams, Alyssa Dudley, Miranda Dudley, Amber Cantu, all of Lufkin, and DJ Clay; grandson, Taryn Cantu of Houston and AJ Clay; great-granddaughter, Heather Adams of Lufkin; and great-grandsons, Junior Cook and Future Dominic Keil, both of Lufkin.

She was preceded in death by her mother Francis Reyna and sister, Josephine.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.  Tuesday prior to the services.
