Lewis Sikes

Graveside services for Lewis Sikes, 88, of Huntington will be held Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Pastor Jacob Fitzgerald officiating.

Mr. Sikes was born January 18, 1935 in Fort Necessity, Louisiana to the late Cora Rebecca (Davis) and Irvin Sikes, and died Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at his residence.

Formerly of Houston, Mr. Sikes had resided in Huntington for 35 years. He earned a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from the University of Indiana. Mr. Sikes served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Food and Drug Administration where he was a supervisor for many years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed gardening. Mr. Sikes was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Sikes of Huntington; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Jeff O’Dell; daughter, Carol Ann Sikes; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Peggy Ann (Earl) Sikes in 2001; and sister, Iris Wiggins.
