Funeral services for Lesley Jo Wade, 24, of Zavalla will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel in Lufkin with Brother Keith Woolf, Judge Mark Allen, and Sheriff Chuck Havard officiating. Interment will follow in Zavalla Cemetery.
Lesley was born May 7, 2000 in Lufkin, Texas to Terri (Redd) and Darrell Lynn “Bud” Sallas, and died Friday, December 27, 2024 in Jacksonville, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Lesley was a Deputy Sheriff with the Jasper County Sheriffs Department. Protecting her community was a high priority in her life. She was a past member of the Zavalla Volunteer Fire Department. Lesley loved animals and the outdoors and was co-founder of the Huntington Bass Fishing Club. She was a member of Ozias Missionary Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school and served as Assistant Youth Director. Lesley dearly loved her husband and children.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Wade of Zavalla; twin son and daughter, Carter Wade and Wymberley Wade of Zavalla; mother and stepfather, Terri and Chris Evett of Zavalla; sisters, Morgan Sallas of Zavalla, Sarah Sallas of Groveton, Gracelyn Sallas of Diboll, and Kailey Ainsworth of Huntington; nephews and nieces, Trenton McCaa, Rayleigh McCaa, Fenleigh Rios, and Landry Ainsworth; cousin, Madison Reyes; grandparents, Nathalea Conger of Zavalla, Ronald Redd of Altus, Oklahoma, Debbie and Barry Robinson of Diboll; parents-in-law, Katrina and Mike Wolfe of Huntington; and grandmother-in-law, Lucille Burnett of Huntington.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bud Sallas; father-in-law, William Wade; and grandfathers, Darrell Sallas and Doyle Burnett.
Pallbearers will be Rusty Pitts, Cameron Nichols, Jacob Spivey, Brad Turner, Kenny Widner, and Jimmy Hensarling.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Evett, Mike Wolfe, Carter Wade, Mason Marcus, Brody Greer, and Trenton McCaa.
