Leona Beasley Kendrick

Funeral services for Leona Beasley Kendrick, 84, of Lufkin will be held Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Cindy Doran officiating. Interment will follow in Old Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Kendrick was born October 15, 1939 in Lufkin, Texas to the late Ina Mae (Wright) and Robert M. Beasley, and died Tuesday, June 18, 2024 in a Tyler hospital.

Mrs. Kendrick was a lifetime resident of Lufkin and retired from the Loan Processing Department at Lufkin Federal Credit Union. She was a member of the Lufkin Chapter 382 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Kendrick was a longtime member of Bethlehem Methodist Church and served as Director of Vacation Bible School for 25 years. She currently attended Keltys United Methodist Church. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be missed immensely.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Charles B., Jr. and Sherry Kendrick of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Caryn and Billy Calhoun of Lufkin, and Cheryl and Lee Glawson of Laneville; grandchildren and spouses, Lacie and Trey Wilkerson, Taylor Hill, Dustin Hill, Cody and Kenna Tidwell, Lacey and Kevin Nguyen, Chris Stevens, and Jeff Stevens; great-grandchildren, Jet Tidwell, Logan Wilkerson, Finn Tidwell, I.V. Wilkerson, Adrian Wilkerson, Alexis Thompson, and Lacee Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Pete Kesecker of Tyler, and Linda and Jimmy Robinson of Lufkin; brother, Ricky Beasley of Chandler; special sister-in-law, Carolyn White; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles Barclay “Buck” Kendrick, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Taylor Hill, Cody Tidwell, John Kendrick, Trey Wilkerson, Kenny Kendrick, and Sean Black.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dustin Hill, Jet Tidwell, Logan Wilkerson, Fin Tidwell, and Howard Price.

Posthumous honorary pallbearer is Kerry White.

The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the services.
